HEARTWORMS 24 HOURS

The latest track from South London artist Heartworms is ‘24 Hours’. It’s a unique musical experience in which a bed of contrasting electronics (distorted synth bass; plucky drum samples) underpins a truly memorable vocal display. The textures eventually build into a chaotic explosion of post-punk noise during the song’s climax. It’s not short of hooks either, with the thick chorus remaining in your mind for days after listening. The track is “about general struggles of teenage growth, secondary school and moments of regret. I wanted the video to be in a school, which was a clear vision I had before the EP was officially recorded.” Heartworms’ debut EP, A Comforting Notion, is out now via Speedy Wunderground. -Dan Peeke
